Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 21474-5 Bushing Receiver
    • J 21474-18 3/8-Inch Nut
    • J 21474-19 3/8-Inch Bolt
    • J 42092 Front Lower Control Arm Horizontal Bushing Remover/Installer kit
    • J 42112-4 Rear Differential Remover/Installer Tool
    • J 42200 Rear Lower Control Arm Bushing Remover/Installer Bolt

    Object Number: 143195 Size: SH

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Remove the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  2. Position the J 42092 -1 and position the J 42092 -2 on either side of the bushing.
  3. Press out the horizontal bushing.

    4. Object Number: 143198 Size: SH
  4. Position the J 21474-18 , J 21474-5 , J 42112-4 and position the J 21474-19 around the bushing.
  5. Press out the vertical bushing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 143198 Size: SH
  1. Position the J 21474-18 ,J 21474-5 , and position the J 21474-19 around the bushing.
  2. Press the vertical bushing into the lower control arm until flush.

    3. Object Number: 143195 Size: SH
  3. Position the J 42092 -1 and position the J 42092 -2 around the bushing.
  4. Press the horizontal bushing into the lower control until flush.
  5. Install the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
