Was the Automatic Level Control (ALC) System Check performed?

  1. Remove the rear suspension leveling air compressor relay K19 form the relay box.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the relay box and a good ground.

Is the measured voltage equal to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuit A44.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 4

Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal 5 and terminal 4 of the relay box.

Does the rear suspension leveling air compressor activate?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal B of the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector and a good ground.

Is the measured voltage equal to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuit X43 and/or circuit X101.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Replace the rear suspension leveling air compressor relay K19.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Connect a test lamp between terminal B and terminal D of the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 10

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuit F214.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Repair or replace the rear suspension leveling air compressor. Refer to Air Compressor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect all of the connectors that were disconnected.
  2. Inspect the ALC system operation. Refer to Automatic Level Control System Operation Check .

Does the ALC system operate properly?

--

System OK
