Inspect the front brake lining and sensors for wear, damage to sensors, and sensor wire chafing.

Was a problem found and repaired?

  1. Disconnect both the left and the right sensors.
  2. Use a DMM and measure the resistance to ground in CKT BA3 (GRY/RED).

Is the resistance reading within the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect connector C200A.
  2. Measure the resistance of CKT BA2 to ground (YEL/RED).

Is the resistance reading within the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT BA3.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 10

  1. Remove the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  2. Remove the connector from the gauge cluster.
  3. Measure the resistance from terminal 2 of the gauge cluster connector to ground.

Is the resistance reading within the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT BA2.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Replace the gauge cluster.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Repair the short to ground in the circuit between terminal 2 and terminal 31 of C200A.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Verify the operation of the brake pad wear indicator:

  1. Disconnect one of the sensor connectors to the brake pad wear indicator.
  2. Observe the indicator lamp on the gauge cluster.

Is the indicator lamp ON?
