  1. Drive the vehicle above 24 km/h (15 mph) for several minutes.
  2. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
  4. Use the scan tool to read the power steering control DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any current DTCs?

  1. Review the appropriate DTC diagnosis table for the history DTC.
  2. Review the diagnostic aids and the conditions for setting the DTC.
  3. Review the procedures in Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.
