Inflatable Restraint Seat Module Replacement - Passenger If equipped

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System
2. Move the seat to the full forward position.
3. Remove the seatback panel. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement in seats.



4. Remove the inflatable restraint front seat module electrical connector.



5. Remove the nuts from inflatable restraint front seat module.
6. Remove the inflatable restraint front seat module from seatback.

1. Install the inflatable restraint front seat module to seatback.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the nuts to inflatable restraint front seat module.

Tighten
Tighten the inflatable restraint front seat module nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).




3. Install the inflatable restraint front seat module electrical connector.
4. Install the seatback panel. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement in seats.
5. Install the seat to original position.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System
