Did you perform the Interior Lights System Check?

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment courtesy lamp.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal C1 of the rear compartment courtesy lamp connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit AP811.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit AP811.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Ensure the rear compartment is open.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal C2 of the rear compartment courtesy lamp connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits XP901, XP982, and/or XP1.
  2. Repair the open in circuits XP901, XP982, and/or XP1.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the rear compartment courtesy lamp switch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Ajar Indicator Switch Replacement in Body Rear End.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the rear compartment courtesy lamp operates properly.
