Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the windshield washer pump connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the windshield washer pump and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate a short to B+ in circuits FA1, FA3, FA4, FA5 and/or FA80.
  2. Repair the short to B+ in circuits FA1, FA3, FA4, FA5 and/or FA80.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the windshield wiper and windshield washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column On Vehicle Service.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the windshield washer pump operates properly.
