Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 174777  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from sensor.
  4. Remove the sensor attaching bolt (46).
  5. Remove the sensor (45) and seal (44) from transmission. Use hand pressure to rotate back and forth while pulling outward. Do not pry on sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sensor (45) and seal (44) to transmission.
  2. Install the sensor attaching bolt (46).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the sensor bolt to 9 N·m (78 lb in).

  4. Connect the electrical connector to sensor.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
