Was the Rear Compartment Lid Release System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Rear Compartment Lid Release System Check .

  1. Ensure that the transmission is in the PARK position.
  2. Disconnect the door lock relay K135 connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A888 or A892.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A888 or A892.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 15

  1. Press and hold the rear compartment lid release switch.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 9 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the rear compartment lid release switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 7

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits B902, B901, M940, M910, X920, and/or F950.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits B902, B901, M940, M910, X920, and/or F950.
  3. Replace the automatic transmission shift lock control switch if these circuits are OK.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 15

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 9 of the door lock relay K135 connector and terminal 3 of the rear compartment lid release switch connector.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit FA812.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit FA812.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 15

Replace the rear compartment lid release switch. Refer to Rear Compartment Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 15

  1. Reconnect the door lock relay K135.
  2. Disconnect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 12

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits FB806 and/or FB21.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits FB806 and/or FB21.
  3. Replace the door lock relay K135 if these circuits are OK.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Press the rear compartment lid release switch.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 14

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits FA807 and/or FA11.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits FA807 and/or FA11.
  3. Replace the door lock relay K135 if these circuits are OK.

If the repair or replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 15

Replace the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement in Body Rear End.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the rear compartment lid release system operates properly.

Does the rear compartment lid release system operate?

--

System OK

Go to Step 1
