Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 441140 Size: SH
  1. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment door.
  2. Remove the striker covers.

  3. Remove the bolts and the strikers from the IP compartment box.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 441141 Size: SH
  1. Install the strikers to the IP compartment box and secure the strikers with the bolts.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Adjust the strikers to full forward position (about 1/8 in) for proper engagement with the latch mechanism.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts until fully seated but not striped.

  3. Install the striker covers.
  4. Close the IP compartment door in order to verify smooth latch engagement. If you require excessive force in order to latch the compartment door, reposition the strikers until latch engagement is smooth.
