Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
  2. Remove the IP compartment door.
  3. Remove the door handle from the IP compartment panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Release Handle Replacement .
  4. Remove the inner cover screws from the IP compartment door.
  5. Remove the inner cover from the IP compartment door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inner cover to the IP compartment door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws to the inner cover of the IP compartment door.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the inner cover screws until fully seated but not stripped.

  5. Install the door handle to the IP compartment panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Release Handle Replacement .
  6. Install the IP compartment door.
  7. Install the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
