Removal Procedure
- Slide the sunscreen all the way rearward.
- Open the glass panel.
- Remove the wind deflector. Refer to Sunroof Air Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the screws from the track inspection cover (1).
- Remove the track inspection cover.
- Inspect the tracks and the gear to the sunroof actuator motor.
- Listen for noises in the cables and/or the sunroof actuator motor gear mechanism.
- Clean the metal or the rust from the moving part.
- The glass panel must be in the closed position.
- Align the glass panel with the roof panel.
- Inspect the opening of the glass panel and the lifter arms. Ensure that the glass panel is locked in place.
Installation Procedure
- Install the track inspection cover (1).
- Install the screws to the track inspection cover.
- Install the wind deflector. Refer to Sunroof Air Deflector Replacement .
- Close the glass panel.
- Slide sunscreen closed.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the track inspection cover screws. The track inspection cover
screws must be fully seated and not stripped.
