Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 163274 Size: SH
  1. Open the fuel filler door.
  2. Remove the screws from the fuel tank filler door (2).
  3. Remove the fuel tank filler door (2).
  4. Remove the screws (4) from the fuel tank filler door latch plate (5).
  5. Remove the fuel tank filler door latch plate (5).
  6. Remove the seal (1) from the fuel tank filler door (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 163274 Size: SH
  1. Install the seal (1) to the fuel tank filler door (2).
  2. Install the fuel tank filler door latch plate (5).

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws (4) to the fuel tank filler door latch plate (5).

    4. Important:  Do NOT strip the fuel tank filler door latch plate screws.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank filler door latch plate screws until fully seated.

  4. Install the fuel tank filler door (2).
  5. Install the screws to the fuel tank filler door (2).

    6. Important:  Do NOT strip the fuel tank filler door screws.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank filler door screws until fully seated.

  6. Close the fuel filler door.
