Did you perform the Door Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Depress the rear defogger button.
  3. Observe the rear defogger indicator on the heater and A/C control module.

Do the heated mirrors operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Carefully disconnect the inoperative mirror face. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement for proper removal.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Depress the rear defogger button.
  5. Connect a test lamp between the heated mirror supply voltage circuit and the heated mirror ground circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Connect a test lamp between the heated mirror supply voltage circuit and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Inspect for a poor connection at the harness connector of the inoperative mirror face. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Repair an open or high resistance in the heated mirror supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair an open or high resistance in the heated mirror ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the inoperative heated mirror face. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
