Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2000 🢒 Catera 🢒 DTC 🢒 DTC 50, 51, or 55 Sunroof Actuator Malfunction

Circuit Description

Internal defects in the sun roof actuator will set DTC 50, 51 or 55.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Sun roof actuator hardware failure (EEPROM, RAM or ROM are defective).

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC 50, 51 or 55 will set and the sun roof actuator will become disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
    • DTC 50, 51 or 55 will clear when the fault is no longer present.
    • DTC 50, 51 or 55 can be cleared by using the scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

Replace the sun roof actuator.

Test Description

  1. This step replaces the sun roof actuator.

    2.

  2. This step programs the sun roof actuator and also checks for any DTCs that may be present.

Did you perform the Power Sunroof Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Select Power Roof and display the DTCs.

Does the scan tool display DTC 55?

Go to Step 3

Replace the sun roof actuator. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Perform the setup procedure. Refer to Sunroof Motor Synchronization .
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
