Important: The differential may be lowered 100-125 mm (4-5 in) without the removal of the drive axles or the propeller shaft from the differential. This provides sufficient clearance to remove the rear axle housing cover.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the ABS sensor bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the rear axle housing cover bolts (1) to 60 N·m
(44 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the differential support bracket bolts to 90 N·m
(66 lb ft) + 38 degrees.
Tighten
Tighten the rear differential bushing bolts (1) to 100 N·m
(74 lb ft).
