Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and oil filter. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter .

  2. Object Number: 159637  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid valve.
  4. Remove the retaining pin (2). Use pliers to pull the pin out.
  5. Remove the solenoid (1).
  6. Remove the solenoid valve and the wave washer.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 159637  Size: SH
  1. Install the solenoid valve (1) and the wave washer.
  2. Install the retaining pin (2). Use a soft mallet to drive the pin in.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the solenoid valve.
  4. Install the transmission oil filter and the transmission oil pan. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter .
  5. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  6. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function.
