Important: Do not downshift at high speeds in Limp Home Mode. The transmission may force the engine to exceed the safe RPM range, which may cause engine damage. Refer to the Shift Speed table.

When the ignition is ON, the TCM performs a functional check of the solenoid valves, switches and sensors. If a problem is detected at any of the TCM inputs, the TCM will enter the limp home mode. In the limp home mode, the driver can manually select the gears, regardless of vehicle speed. Refer to the Default Mode Operation table in Electronic Component Description .
