Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

1. Insert a CD magazine with at least 1 audio CD into the remote CD changer.
2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Turn ON the radio.
4. Play the CD in the remote CD changer.

Does the remote CD changer play on both the left and right channels?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Test the appropriate (left or right) audio output circuit for an open, short or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the remote CD changer. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Replace the remote CD changer.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
