Did you review the Power Windows Description and Operation?

Go to Step 2

Verify that the inoperative power windows lockout function fault is present.

Does the power windows lockout function operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the LF door switch.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  4. Probe the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the LF door switch with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the LH door switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to voltage in the power window master switch lockout signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the LH door switch. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
