Operate the sunshade switch.

Did the sunshade operate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

  1. Disconnect the rear window sunshade module.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear window sunshade module and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear window sunshade module and the ground circuit of the rear window sunshade module.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Measure the resistance between the sunshade switch input circuit of the rear window sunshade module and a good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than OL?

Go to Step 6

Test the control circuit of the rear window sunshade motor for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Test the signal circuit of the rear window sunshade motor for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear window sunshade module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the rear window sunshade module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the sunshade switch input circuit of the rear window sunshade module for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
