Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 20426  Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold top cover.

  2. Object Number: 62964  Size: SH
  3. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid connector (1).
  4. Remove the canister purge solenoid vaccum lines.
  5. Remove the canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.
  6. Remove the canister purge solenoid from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the canister purge solenoid to the bracket.
  2. Install the canister purge solenoid (2) valve bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 in lb).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the canister purge solenoid vaccum lines.

  5. Object Number: 62964  Size: SH
  6. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid connector (1).
  7. Install the bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (7 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   9. Install the intake manifold top cover.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
