Service VME - Engine Oil Cooler Kit Installation Required - keywords adapter cooling EOC filter kit line LD8 sedan V08 W20

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

MY2006 DTS livery sedans (W20) are equipped with a heavy-duty Engine Oil Cooling (EOC) system. Unlike previous model years, Cadillac dealers are now required, on MY2006 DTS livery sedans, to install the EOC lines to the dual port engine oil filter adaptor that is located on the engine. The EOC kit is located in a box which can be found in the trunk of the vehicle.

As a first measure, verify that the dual port engine oil filter adaptor has been installed on the engine. Additionally, ensure that the EOC line kit is located in the trunk. If the engine does have the proper dual port engine oil filter adaptor, as well as the EOC kit, perform the installation per the instructions in the kit. If either the proper dual port engine oil filter adaptor is missing from the engine and/or the EOC kit is missing from the trunk, contact Professional Vehicle Program Headquarters at 1-800-528-5515.

Note: Vehicles built prior to breakpoint 6U118885 are not affected by this bulletin.

Important: Prior to the vehicle being delivered to the customer, the EOC kit must be installed or damage to the engine may occur.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
