Ultrasonic Front and Rear Parking Assist (UFRPA) Concerns

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

PARKING ASSIST OFF, SERVICE PARK ASSIST, or PARK ASSIST DISABLED messages displayed. A red light may be shown on the rear UFRPA display when the shift lever is moved into REVERSE (R).

Testing of returned Object Alarm Modules replaced under warranty have frequently been found to have No Trouble Found (NTF). Ensure all wiring and sensors have been eliminated as the cause prior to replacing the Object Alarm Module. Closely follow SI diagnostic procedures for any DTC stored. If no DTC store, inspect the sensors for dirt and damage. Check the Park Assist Disable History using the Tech 2. If the concern cannot be duplicated, ensure the customer is familiar with temporary conditions found in the owner manual that may cause the system not to activate. Contact Technical Assistance if additional help is required.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
