Battery Goes Dead (Replace Amplifier) - keywords amp battery draw F1 intermittent load parasitic

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The vehicle battery discharges or becomes dead while the vehicle is parked.

The potential exists in vehicles built prior January 18, 2006 for the base Amplifier ONLY (RPO UQ3) to cause a high parasitic load on the battery. Replace the amplifier if a draw can be traced to the F1 AMP Fuse.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
