Daytime Running Lights Inoperative

Subject:Daytime Running Lights Inoperative

Models:2006- 2008 Cadillac DTS

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may comment that one or both of the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are inoperative or flash at times. The cause may be that one or both of the DRL bulbs have failed due to air intrusion into the bulb or possible distortion in the headlamp housing around DRL sockets. This condition is primarily exhibited on vehicles that run for extended periods of time.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect the headlamp housing for damage and replace it if necessary. If the headlamp housing is not damaged, replace the DRL bulb with a new Sylvania part # 13502321.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
