Some 1992 DeVilles and Fleetwoods may experience an exhaust rattle, rap noise especially on cold operation.
A revised larger volume muffler assembly can be installed to help improve, though not completely correct in all circumstances, this condition.
To repair this condition use the following procedure:
1. Support intermediate pipe.
2. Cut intermediate pipe as close to muffier as tool will permit. Use J-35976 or equivalent.
3. Remove muffler hangers and muffler.
4. Install revised larger muffler, P/N 25617527, and different RH hanger, P/N 25559600.
5. Connect intermediate pipe to muffler saddle/"U" bolt type clamp.
6. Align muffler and intermediate pipe to proper clearance.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
For warranty purposes use labor Operation L2584 at .5 hour.
