Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 254480 Size: SH
  1. Install the control arm over the shock tower to install in the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the inner and outer control arm bolts. Place a screw jack under the outboard end of the lower control arm to bring the suspension to designed trim height. The inner control arm nuts must be tightened in design position to reduce wind up in the bushings.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the upper control arm inner and outer nuts to 108 N·m (80 lb ft).

  5. Install the fuel filler tube bracket.
  6. Install the electronic level control height sensor link.
  7. Install the wheel and tire.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the wheel nuts to 190 N·m (140 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
