Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Right Front Drivers Seat

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Move the seat fully forward.
  3. Remove the seat anchor bolts.
  4. Raise and support the seat.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Remove the nut retaining the buckle assembly to the seat adjuster track.
  7. Remove the buckle assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the buckle assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. Lower the seat.
  7. Install the seat anchor bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the anchor bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  9. Reposition the seat.
  10. Close the door.

Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Right Front Passenger Seat

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Position the seat so that the passenger buckle retaining nut is just ahead of the center seat belt anchor cover.
  3. Remove the nut.
  4. Remove the buckle assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the buckle assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Close the door.

Removal Procedure

  1. Move the seats forward.
  2. Lift the retainer trim cover.
  3. Remove the bolt.
  4. Remove the belt.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the belt.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener.   3. Install the bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the trim cover.
  6. Repostion the seats.

Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Right Front Eldorado

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Move the seat full rearward.
  3. Remove the front seat track sight shields.
  4. Move the seat full forward.
  5. Remove the seat to floor pan anchor bolts.
  6. Raise and support the seat.
  7. Remove the nut to the buckle assembly.
  8. Carefully guide the seat belt buckle thorough the seat cushion guide loop.
  9. Remove the buckle assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Guide the buckle assembly through the seat cushion guide loop.
  2. Install the buckle assembly anchor plate stud.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Lower the seat.
  7. Install the seat anchor bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the seat anchor bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  9. Reposition the seat.
  10. Close the door.
