Driver or Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Replacement Eldorado

Removal Procedure

  1. Move the seat to the full rearward position.
  2. Remove the front seat track sight shields.
  3. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  4. Remove the rear anchor bolts.
  5. Raise and support the seat.
  6. Remove the tie strap securing the seat electrical harness to the seat.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  8. Remove the nut securing the buckle to the seat assembly.
  9. Carefully guide the electrical connector through the seat track in order to remove the buckle.
  10. Remove the buckle assembly by carefully pulling downward in order to remove the buckle from the seat cushion loop.
  11. Remove the buckle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the buckle assembly through the seat cushion loop.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Carefully guide the electrical connector through the top of the seat track.
  6. Connect the electrical connector.
  7. Secure the electrical harness with a new tie strap.
  8. Lower the seat.
  9. Install the rear anchor bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the rear anchor bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  11. Move the seat full rearward.
  12. Install the front seat track sight shields.
  13. Reposition the seat.
