Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect wiper switch connector C202.
  3. Set the wiper switch to DELAY.
  4. Measure the resistance through connector C202 from terminal E5 to terminal E9, using a J 39200.
  5. Move the wiper switch through the entire delay range.

Does the resistance vary within the specified range?

91 kohms to 1.2 Mohms

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

Measure the resistance through connector C202 from terminal E5 to terminal E6, using a J 39200.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

3 ohms

Go to Step 6

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Reconnect wiper/washer switch connector C202.
  2. Disconnect wiper motor connector C1.
  3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  4. Set the wiper switch to HI.
  5. Measure the voltage from wiper motor connector C1, terminal B, to ground using a J 39200.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15 V

Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 91.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage from wiper moptor connector C1, terminal F, to ground using a J 39200.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15 V

Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 94.

  1. Disconnect the Rainsense module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  3. Connect a test light between Rainsense module connector terminal 7 and terminal 8.

Is the test light on?

--

Connect a test light from Rainsense module connector, terminal 8, to ground.

Is the test light on?

Repair the open in CKT 1051.

    • Disconnect connector C202.
    • Inspect for continuity from connector C202, terminal E9, to Rainsense module connector, terminal 6 using a J 39200.

Is there continuity?

Repair the open in CKT 94.

Is the repair complete?

    • Reconnect the Rainsense module connector.
    • Measure the resistance through connector C202 from terminal E5 to terminal E9, using a J 39200.
    • Move the wiper switch through the entire Auto Delay range.

Does the resistance vary within the specified range?

91 kohms to 1.2 Mohms

    • Set the wiper switch in the Auto Delay range.
    • Measure the resistance through connector C202 from terminal E5 to terminal E6, using a J 39200.

Is the measurement less than the specified value?

3 ohms

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Reconnect connector C202.
  2. Disconnect connector C1.
  3. Measure the resistance from connector C1, terminal G, to Rainsense module connector, terminal 9, using a J 39200.

Is the measurement less than the specified value?

3 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 1715.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the resistance from connector C1, terminal F, to Rainsense module connector, terminal 5, using a J 39200.

Is the measurement less than the specified value?
