Did you perform the Power Windows System Check?

  1. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe the inoperative rear power window switch terminal A to terminal E.
  2. Press the rear power window UP switch, then the window DOWN switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to backprobe the inoperative rear power window switch connector terminal F to terminal D.
  2. Backprobe from terminal F to terminal H.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to backprobe the left front power window switch connector C1 terminal F (PPL) to terminal E (LT GRN).
  2. Press the rear power window UP switch, then the window DOWN switch on the left front power window switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 6

  1. Ensure that the rear power window switch connector is clean and tight.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the right rear power window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Repair the open in CKT 170 (LT GRN) or in CKT 171 (PPL). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Ensure that the left front power window switch connector is clean and tight.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the left front power window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

  1. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to backprobe the inoperative rear power window motor connector from terminal A to terminal B.
  2. Press the rear power window UP switch, then the window DOWN switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Ensure that the inoperative rear power window motor connector is clean and tight.
  2. If the connector is OK, replace the inoperative rear power window motor. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Motor Replacement .

Repair the open or the short to ground in CKT 671 (BRN) or in CKT 670 (DK BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
