Removal Procedure

The rear end panel is supplied as a complete assembly. Quarter panel extensions attach to the outside corners of the rear end panel and must be ordered separately. Service for all of these panels is performed at factory seams.


    Object Number: 394270  Size: SH
  1. Remove all related panels and components.
  2. Visually inspect and restore as much of the damage as possible to factory specifications.
  3. Remove the following as necessary:
  4. • Sealers
    • Sound deadeners
    • Anti-corrosion materials
  5. Locate, mark and drill out factory welds. Note the number of welds for installation of the service panel.
  6. Remove the damaged panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 394270  Size: SH
  1. Prepare mating surfaces and check for proper fit of the service panel.
  2. Drill 8 mm (5/16 in) plug weld holes on the new panel as necessary in the locations noted from the original panel.
  3. Position the service panel.
  4. Check for proper fit. Use three-dimensional measuring equipment.
  5. Plug weld accordingly.
  6. Clean and prepare welded surfaces.
  7. Prime with two-part catalyzed primer.
  8. Apply sealers and anti-corrosion materials as necessary.
  9. Do not combine paint systems.
  10. Install all related panels and components.
