The side frame openings feature a unique modular build sub-assembly design to improve manufacturing quality. They are composed of numerous individual components that are pre-assembled.

The door frame can be replaced as a complete unit or various segments of it can be sectioned. Sectioning the door frame is usually much faster and more cost effective. Since the left and right door frame openings are only available as complete assemblies, service parts for sectioning must be cut from the complete assembly and modified as necessary.

The specific areas to be sectioned are determined by the extent of damage. For greater service flexibility, there are 6 locations where sectioning of the door frame opening can be performed.

Important: Sectioning should only take place in the recommended areas. Failure to do so may compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle. Refer to Outer Door Frame Sectioning .
