Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 398497 Size: SH
  1. Gently pry out the outer edge of the escutcheon.

    2. Slide the escutcheon toward the center of the assist strap.

  2. Remove the 2 fasteners that retain the assist strap.
  3. Remove the assist strap.
  4. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the retainers from the back of the quarter trim that retain the assist strap to the quarter trim.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 398497 Size: SH
  1. Install the fasteners in order retain the assist strap to the quarter trim panel.
  2. Install quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Install the 2 fasteners in order to retain the assist strap and the quarter trim to the body.
  4. Attach the assist strap escutcheons.
