When an ignition key is inserted in the ignition switch, the terminals located in the ignition cylinder contact the resistor pellet in the key. The IPC measures the resistance of the key pellet and then compares the resistance to the one stored in the memory.
The presence of this DTC indicates that all 3 key codes or passwords stored in the IPCs memory do not match one another, or are all ones, or all zeros.
• | Inspect for other set DTCs. First diagnose any existing DTCs. |
• | Inspect the IPC connectors for proper connect. If OK, replace the IPC. |
