Action

The ball joint has inadequate lubricant.

Service and/or replace as needed. Refer to Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Replacement in Front Suspension.

The vehicle has worn tie rod ends.

  1. Service and /or replace as needed. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement in Power Steering System.
  2. Perform an alignment. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment.

The control arm bushings are worn.

Service and/or replace as needed. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement in Front Suspension.

The stabilizer shaft bushings are loose or worn.

Service and/or replace as needed. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement in Front Suspension.

The wheel nuts are loose.

Tighten the wheel nuts as needed. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Tires and Wheels.

The suspension bolts are loose.

Inspect and service as required. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Front Suspension.

The frame insulators are loose or worn.

Inspect and service as required. Refer to Frame Cushion or Insulator Replacement in Frame and Underbody.

The strut or strut mounting is damaged.

Inspect and service as required. Refer to Strut, Strut Component, and Spring Replacement .
