  1. Disconnect the turn/hazard flasher module.
  2. Probe the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the turn/hazard flasher module and the ground circuit of the turn/hazard flasher module.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the ground circuit of the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the turn/hazard flasher module.
  2. Probe the stoplamp switch signal circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  3. Press the brake pedal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the stoplamp switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .

Probe the feed circuit of the stoplamp/automatic transmission shift lock control switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 13

  1. Probe the load circuit of the stoplamp/automatic transmission shift lock control switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  2. Press the brake pedal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
