Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 419645  Size: SH
  4. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - On Vehicle .

  5. Object Number: 577317  Size: SH
  6. Remove the Torx® bolts (2) from the multi-function switch. (1)
  7. Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connections.
  8. Remove the multi-function switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 420196  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the multi-function switch and the two Torx® bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the Torx® bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connections.
  4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - On Vehicle .
  5. Install steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
