Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2000 🢒 DeVille 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.

    2. Object Number: 575729 Size: SH
  2. Remove the steering column closeout (1).

    3. Object Number: 419645 Size: SH
  3. Remove the two TORX® head screws from the lower shroud cover (2).
  4. Remove the steering column retaining nuts.
  5. Lower the steering column.
  6. Remove the lower column shroud (1).

    7. Object Number: 577284 Size: SH
  7. Remove the torx screw (2) from the upper cover.
  8. Remove the upper column shroud.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install upper shroud (1).

    2. Object Number: 577284 Size: SH
  2. install the upper TORX® screw (2) to the upper cover.

    3. Object Number: 419645 Size: SH
  3. Install the lower column shroud (1).
  4. Ensure that the tabs (2) on the lower shroud engage with the tabs on the upper shroud then snap them together.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the two TORX ® screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Install the steering column and retainers to the instrument panel.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the steering column closeout shroud (1).
  7. If all service operations are completed enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
  8. Install the knee bolster.
