Was the entire Lighting System Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the DRL relay status.

Does the scan tool display OFF status?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the DRL relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Did the DRL headlamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp from the control circuit of the DRL relay to the coil side feed circuit of the DRL relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground in the DRL relay control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Dash Integration Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Did you complete the replacement?

Repair the short to power in the DRL headlamp power feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the DRL relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
