Turn ON the hazard switch.

Do the hazard lamps flash?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the hazard switch.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the hazard signal circuit and a good ground.

Do the hazard lamps flash?

Go to Step 4

Connect a fused jumper wire between the hazard signal circuit and the ground circuit of the hazard switch.

Do the hazard lamps flash?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Replace the hazard switch assembly. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Test the hazard signal circuit for an open between the hazard switch and the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn/hazard flasher module. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the hazard switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
