Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Close all doors.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Door Jamb Sw. parameters in the door modules Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display ON for any of the inputs?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn the interior lamp switch to AUTO.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Overhead Lamps Output parameter in the rear integration module (RIM) Outputs data list.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

Go to Step 4

Test the ground circuit of the courtesy lamp for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 20

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the dome/buzzer input in the door module data list.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

Inspect for poor connections at the door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 20

Replace the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement or Rear Side Door Latch Replacement in Doors.

Did you complete the replacement?

Test the input circuit of the inoperative door lock actuator for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the connector of the inoperative door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement in Doors.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the interior lamp switch parameter.

Does the scan tool display AUTO?

Test the signal circuit of the interior lamp switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the RIM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
