Do the cornering lamps operate properly?

1. Disconnect the license lamp bulb.
2. Probe the power feed circuit of the license lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Turn ON the headlights.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Connect a test lamp between the power feed circuit of the license lamp and the ground circuit of the license lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the license lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 6

Replace the license lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 9

Repair the power feed circuit of the license lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Repair a high resistance or open in license plate lamp ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
