Removal Procedure
- Set the wipers in the
Park position.
- Mark the position of the wiper blade on the windshield with a
suitable marker or a piece of masking tape.
- Disconnect the washer hose from the air inlet grille panel.
- Remove the cover from the nut on the wiper arm.
- Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
Important: Use a battery terminal puller to remove the wiper arm if rocking the
wiper arm fails to loosen it from the drive shaft.
- Rock the wiper arm back and forth to loosen it from the drive shaft.
- Remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.
- Clean the drive shaft knurls with a wire brush.
- Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Refer to

Installation Procedure
- Install the wiper blade
onto the wiper arm. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement
.
- Position the wiper arm so that the wiper blade aligns with the
mark made on the windshield before removal.
- Install the wiper arm onto the drive shaft.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut
on the wiper arm.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the cover on the nut.
- Install the washer hose onto the air inlet grille panel.
- Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
