Did you perform the Cigar Lighter/Auxiliary Outlets Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Operate the auxiliary outlets.

Do the auxiliary outlets operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Operate the front cigar lighter.

Does the front cigar lighter operate normally?

Go to Step 4

Go to Cigar Lighter Inoperative

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative auxiliary outlet harness connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative auxiliary outlet and ground circuit of the inoperative auxiliary outlet.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative auxiliary outlet and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Inspect for a poor connection / terminal tension at the inoperative auxiliary outlet. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative auxiliary outlet. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or high resistance in the supply circuit of the inoperative auxiliary outlet. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the inoperative auxiliary outlet. Refer to Auxiliary Audio/Video Input Control Replacement in Entertainment.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair
