Did you perform the Cigar Lighter/Auxiliary Outlets Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Operate the rear cigar lighters.

Does the cigar lighters operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Does the front cigar lighter operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Cigar Lighter Inoperative

Inspect the C/LTR 2 fuse for an open.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative rear cigar lighter harness connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative rear cigar lighter and ground circuit of the inoperative rear cigar lighter.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative rear cigar lighter and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Inspect for a poor connection/terminal tension at the inoperative rear cigar lighter. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 11

Repair a short to ground in the supply circuit of the rear cigar lighters. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 12

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative rear cigar lighter. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 12

Repair the open or high resistance in the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative rear cigar lighter. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 12

Replace the inoperative rear cigar lighter. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement in Doors.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
