Did you Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Power Door Systems?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Door Systems

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Using the Mirror Select Switch, select the mirror that is inoperative (L or R).
4. Observe the Mirror Switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch Inputs list while activating the mirror position switch on the driver door switch assembly.

Does the Mirror Switch parameter change state?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 5

1. Disconnect the harness connector that contains the mirror motor control circuits from the door module associated with the mirror that does not operate.
2. Connect a test lamp between the mirror motor up circuit pin and the mirror motor down circuit pin at the door module.
3. Activate the mirror position switch to the Up and Down positions

Does the test lamp illuminate as expected with the switch activations?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

1. Connect the test lamp between the mirror motor left circuit pin and the mirror motor right circuit pin at the door module.
2. Activate the mirror position switch to the Left and Right positions

Does the test lamp illuminate as expected with the switch activations?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door switch assembly. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative outside rear view mirror. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 8

Replace the inoperative outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Replace the door module of the inoperative mirror. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Replace the driver door switch assembly Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
