Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front and the rear doors.
  2. Remove the door wire harness conduit (1) from the center pillar.
  3. Disconnect the door wire harness (1) from the body wire harness (2).

  4. Object Number: 524053  Size: SH
  5. Remove the check link bolt from the center pillar.

  6. Object Number: 535498  Size: SH
  7. Remove the intermediate hinge bolts (1) from both hinges.
  8. Lift the door to remove.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the door hinge halves.
  2. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.

  3. Object Number: 535498  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Use Loctite® Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to installing the bolts.

  4. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Position the check link arm to the pillar.
  7. Install the check link bolt to the center pillar.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the check link bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Touch up any damage to the intermediate rear door hinge fasteners with body color paint.

  11. Connect the door wire harness (1) to the body wire harness (2).
  12. Install the door wire harness conduit (1) into the center pillar.
  13. Check the door for proper adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
