Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Heated Seat Mode parameter in the Door Module data list.
  4. Activate the heated seat BACK ONLY switch.

Does the Heated Seat Mode parameter change state?

  1. Probe the heated seat mode circuit of the heated seat switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  2. Activate the heated seat BACK ONLY switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module harness connector C 1.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat mode input circuit of the heated seat module to the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the heated seat module.
  3. Operate the heated seat BACK ONLY switch ON and OFF.

Does the test lamp turn ON and OFF with each command?

Test the heated seat mode input circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the mode input circuit between the door module and the heated seat module for a short to voltage, high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the mode input circuit between the door control module and the heated seat module for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heated seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
